wivesOct 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Athletes have always had infidelity issues. Considering the Tiger Woods and Brett Favre stories, not much explanation on the problem is necessary to the present day fans. To combat the problem, the wives of the NFL players have come up with a plan. The women in the lives of some of the NFL players have created a company called ‘Off The Market’ which sponsors invitation only events for NFL couples. Though many have shown skepticism about the idea, some feel that the social interaction among the couples could help cope with the stress that the relationships of the celebrity sportsmen suffer from.

The company held one event in New York recently and the next one is slated to take place at St.Louis. One psychologist, who claims that the idea could backfire, explained that the company, ‘Off The Market’, also offers opportunities to other companies to target the athletes. Considering that more companies and sponsors will be looking to meet and interact with the players, the NFL stars could have even more temptations in the form of the representatives of the prospective sponsors.

Another psychologist, who appreciated the idea, said that the ‘Off The Market’ events could encourage a sense of community for the couples which could lessen the chances of infidelity. He also added that cheating is a personal choice and a fun event might not be a real deterrent in making the choice. Among some of the well known faces in the NFL circuit, Fred Robbins’ wife, Tia Robbins is one of the co-founders of ‘Off The Market’.
