Sep 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ines Sainz, the reporter of Mexico’s Azteca channel complained that she she was harassed at the New York Jets’ locker room last Saturday. The complain and allegation caused lot of stir among the sports fraternity. The media raised a question before asking if the female reporters can work under a professional environment. The owner of the team Woody Johnson personally apologized to the reporter on behalf of his team. However, the recent reports suggest that NFL has taken the matter seriously and the officials are investigating about the matter.
A reputed media source reported that NFL is presently trying to find out what exactly happened in the New York Jets locker room when the reporter went to see their practice match and take an interview of their quarterback. Rex Ryan, the coach of New York Jets said that the NFL officials are investigating and the team is “open” to co-operate with them. The coach said that the NFL officials can talk to whoever they want to interrogate. The coach informed that the NFL officials were talking to some specific players and he also spoke with the NFL.
The American football running back for the Washington Redskins, Clinton Portis previously commented in favor of the New York Jets’ behavior. However, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello disagreed with his statement saying that the comments are clearly inappropriate, “offensive” and have no place with NFL. This statement led the Washington Redskins to issue a statement through Clinton Portis where he apologized for his previous statement and wrote that he was “wrong” to make such comments. Even the Washington Redskins officials said that they would take necessary steps to remind the players about acting in a professional manner.
