New Zealand to bat against Sri Lanka

Kumar Sangakkara Colombo, March 29 (IANS) New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the first semifinal of the cricket World Cup here Tuesday.

Muttiah Muraliatharan, who pulled his thigh muscle in the match against England, is playing.

New Zealand brought in seamer Andy McKay for Luke Woodcock.

Sri Lanka have not made any change in their side and are playing with three spinners in Muraliatharan, Rangana Herath and Ajantha Mendis.

Kumar Sangakkara (captain/wicketkeeper), Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath, Aajantha Mendis, Muttiah Muralitharan.

New Zealand:
Daniel Vettori (captain), Brendon McCullum (wicketkeeper), Martin Guptill, Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor, Scott Styris, Kane Williamson, Nathan McCullum, Jacob Oram, Tim Southee, Andy McKay.
