New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner dies after suffering a massive heart attack

George Steinbrenner Tampa, July 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to BNO News, the New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died after he suffered a massive heart attack.

He had suffered the attack at his home last night. His family called the emergency services and the Tampa Fire Rescue personnel came and took him to the St. Joseph Hospital for medical aid.

Then he was reported to be in an extremely critical condition. However the latest reports by AP have confirmed that the generous NY Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is no more. He died in the morning at around 6:30 a.m. ET today. He was 80 years old. He had recently celebrated his birthday on the 4th of July.

George Steinbrenner was the influential and energetic owner of the New York Yankees for more than three decades. And under his capable ownership the New York Yankees have been instrumental in winning 11 pennants and even seven World Series titles.

His four children – Hank Steinbrenner, Hal Steinbrenner, Jessica Steinbrenner and Jennifer Steinbrenner-Swindal survive him.

It is certainly a sad day for the New York Yankees.
