New Jersey Nets Signs Travis Outlaw

851East Rutherford, July 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Free agent Travis Outlaw has been signed by New Jersey Nets for a five year contract. Reportedly, the forward was hired for $35 million dollars which isn’t an inspiring deal considering the free agency drafts which has been an expensive affair.

Travis Outlaw has appeared in a total of 34 games against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Clippers in the last season. His average stands at 9.9 points and a total of 3.5 rebounds against the Trail Blazers. Against Los Angeles Clippers, he averaged 8.7 points with 3.6 rebounds. Travis Outlaw is the first drafting of New Jersey Nets in the Free Agency Session which kicked off last week. Mikhail Prokhorov along with President and General Manager Rod Thorn had Dwayne Wade and Rudy Gay in their wish list but Rudy Gay was signed by Memphis Grizzlies while Dwayne Jude choose to stay back with Miami Heat. Before they went ahead with their decision to book Travis Outlaw for the upcoming season, New Jersey Nets had placed their bets for Carlos Boozer. Unfortunately, Chicago Bulls picked him up in a stronger bid on Wednesday. Left with no other option, New Jersey Nets had $30 million to draft any free agent and they finally settled for Travis Outlaw.

Travis Outlaw was the very first pick by Portland in the first-round draft in the year 2003. His career games are 400 in total with an average of 9.5 points and a total of 3.4 rebounds in a span of 22 minutes. He shooting ranges are .441 from field and .363 from a 3-point range. The forward averaged 9 points with 3 rebounds in six playoff games of his basketball career.
