New ICC rules to be implemented in domestic matches from Challenger Trophy
October 7th, 2011 - 9:02 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Oct 7 (IANS) The International Cricket Council’s new rules will be implemented in India’s domestic circuit starting with the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Friday confirmed that the ICC’s rule changes that came into effect in international matches from Oct 1 will be introduced in the domestic matches with the Challenger Trophy in Nagpur from Oct 10 to 13.
“All senior-level domestic matches and tournaments organised by the BCCI will now be played under the ICC’s amended playing conditions,” said BCCI secretary Sanjay Jagdale in a statement.
Some of the major rule changes are use of two balls per innings — to be used in alternate overs — in the 50-over format, abolition of runners in all three formats and a batsman obstructing the field to be adjudged out.
