Netherlands decimate Canada 6-0
March 5th, 2010 - 9:56 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 5 (IANS) The Netherlands decimated Canada 6-0 to win their third match on the trot in Pool A of the Hockey World Cup here Friday.
After a goalless first half, the Netherlands came into their element in the latter session to hammer goals one after the other as Canada looked all at sea against the wave of Dutch attacks at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here.
Taeke Taekema converted two penalty corners to take his tally to six in the World Cup.
Rogier Hofman also scored two goals, while Ronald Brower and Rob Reckers struck one apiece for Netherlands, who now lead the group with nine points.
