NCAA Wrestling Championships 2010 Results Announced

ncaa1 Nebraska, Mar 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The NCAA Wrestling championship results have already been declared. Junior Brad Pataky topped the list as he beat Jarrod Patterson. Frank Molinaro had a smooth victory of 9-4 against Donald Vinson.

Cyler Sanderson on the other hand put up an impressive show against Bryan Deutsch who represented Northern Illinois. As expected, senior in the category, Dan Vallimont overpowered Virginia Tech’s Matt Epperly standing at 165. The final winner in this category was David Erwin who took over Erich Schmidtke from Oklahoma. Following the final round results, the consolation as well as the second round of the NCAA Wrestling tournament shall be held in the late evenings which is scheduled to start off at around 6:30 PM Central.

The NCAA Wrestling championship originated way back in the year 1929. Since then, the event has been held with utmost fanfare till date. However, it was during one of those war years in 1934 when the tournament was called off. It was only an unofficial title from the era 1931 to 1933. NCAA Wrestling Champions are decided in accordance to the point system. Records speak of Oklahoma State University winning the highest number of titles than any other NCAA team championship schools. They grace the list all the way from the top with 34 titles out of which 3 are unofficial. Iowa follows Oklahoma second in the list with a title score of 22. Oklahoma had made to the winners stand in 1928 and in 1931 which were all unofficial titles. Following that, Indiana University took over the 1932 title. It was in the year 1933, that the championship had witnessed a co-champion and the tittle being shared in between Oklahoma and Iowa.
