New York, Mar 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The last four of the 2011 NCAA Hockey Tournament commonly called the Frozen Four was decided last weekend. After the weekend, Minnesota-Duluth, Notre Dame, North Dakota and Michigan qualified for the penultimate stage of the event.

The Frozen Four games will be played at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Minnesota-Duluth will be coming up against Notre Dame in the first game on the 7th of April. That game would be followed by North Dakota’s game against Michigan.

Last weekend’s games were not without surprises. Minnesota-Duluth somehow managed to beat Yale 5-3. That was very surprising to the bookmakers because their forms clearly made Yale the favorites to advance. Notre Dame on the other hand managed to see off New Hampshire. The game on Sunday ended 2-1 in favor of Notre Dame.

North Dakota are clearly the stronger side of the four. They were merciless in their games against RPI and Denver on Saturday and Sunday respectively. After demolition RPI 6-0, North Dakota again trashed Denver 6-1. Michigan completed the top four list after they beat Colorado 2-0 on Sunday.

After the Frozen Four, the finals of the tournament would be held on the 9th of April. The games will be shown live on ESPN2.
