NBA Free Agency: Rudy Gay Goes To Memphis Grizzlies At $80 million

July 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The bidding for the NBA Free Agents have begun and this year teams have come prepared. Teams like the New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets which are in rebuilding mode are hoping that some of the big names among the free agents sit up and take notice. LeBron James is by far the most sought after name after the bids started and most of the team’s managements have approached him for an appointment. Teams will take cue from the Los Angeles Lakers who created a winning combination by bringing in Pau Gasol to complement Kobe Bryant.
The choices and decisions made this month by the players and the teams will have an impact on the game of NBA for years to come. Some of the confirmed contracts so far is that of Rudy Gay who has been signed by the Memphis Grizzlies for a 5 year contract. The restricted free agent was expected to meet with the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets but he chose to stick to the $80 million contract offered by the Memphis Grizzlies.
The big names among the free agents include Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and even veteran Shaquille O’Neal. The biggest name is however of LeBron James who has single handedly put the name of the Cleveland Cavalier up there with the best teams. The two time MVP is under the radar of every team who can afford him. For Dwayne Wade, the rumor is that he will stick to Miami Heat or move to Chicago Bulls. The speculations are abuzz as he is presently staying in Chicago with his wife and child and is expected to meet the Chicago Bulls management.
