NBA Draft 2010: John Wall And Evan Turner Make The Cut

john-wallJune 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) John Wall became the talk of the town as he became the No.1 overall pick by the Washington Wizards. However, he was not the only big name in the Washington Wizards list as they picked up veteran Kirk Hinrich as well as No.17 pick Kevin Seraphin. They also traded for Minnesota’s pick Trevor Booker. The Washington Wizards made it evident that they want to build a young team and John Wall was the biggest example. In a later interview, John Wall said that he will show the team what he is capable of. He also added that he is a leader who is not afraid to speak up to the older guys.

Another selection that stood out at the NBA drafts was the No.2 overall pick Evan Turner by the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night. He will join a squad that is in the process of rebuilding and coming from a 27-55 season. He became the top choice for the Philadelphia 76ers as the lottery balls took them from the sixth to the second position. The new coach for Philadelphia 76ers, Doug Collins said that his eyes were on picking Evan Turner. The pick came as a surprise to many as Evan turner has just returned from an injury that kept him out of the game for 5 weeks due to broken bones in the back. He averages 20.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists. He was also a crucial part of the Buckeyes team that made it to the final 16 of the NCAA tournament.

The Houston Rockets picked the third Kentucky player Patrick Patterson as the 14th pick in the NBA drafts on Thursday. The 6′9″ 235 pound Patrick Patterson said that he is shaking from inside after hearing the news and it is like a dream come true for him.
