National junior basketball: Delhi, Punjab enter quarters
May 28th, 2012 - 9:41 pm ICT by IANSPondicherry, May 28 (IANS) Delhi junior boys roared past Rajasthan 70-53 to enter the quarterfinals of the 63rd National Basketball Championship here Monday.
Rakesh with 25 points played the lead role for Delhi who led 34-26 at half time and hung on to the advantage in the face of a spirited fightback by Rajasthan in the second session.
In the girls section, Punjab, who led 32-18 at half-time, eased past Odisha 69-59 to also enter the quarter-finals. Nirmal (38) and Sitamani (30) were the top scorers for Punjab and Odisha, respectively.
