National Games: Punjab and Haryana win hockey golds
February 25th, 2011 - 9:18 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Feb 25 (IANS) Punjab and Haryana respectively clinched the men’s and women’s hockey golds defeating hosts Jharkhand at the 34th National Games here Friday.Haryana defeated Jharkhand 3-1 in the women’s final while the Punjab men blanked the local team 2-0.
The Punjab men scored the two goals in the second half.
In women’s hockey, Haryana dominated from the start but could only convert one penalty corner in the first half. Surinder Kaur scored two goals for the visitors.
