Nate Robinson Scores A Great Basket… But The Wrong One

Nov.22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The NBA fans witnessed a once in a lifetime event that was at once comic and laden with tragedy. Knicks player Nate Robinson scored an amazing shot that sent the team clapping. Unfortunately, it was the other team, the Nets. He had swung the ball in the wrong basket, the Nets one. It is indeed a good thing that the Knicks still won, even after Nate’s blunder, else a pretty difficult time for him would have laid ahead.
The whole shot was a mistake on Nate’s part. He was under the misconception that no time was left and that the game had come to an end. So, he turned and took a shot at the Nets basket and made it. Unfortunately for him, the end of the game buzzer had not yet gone off, and the goal was counted as valid. Ironically for the player, the buzzer rang a mere half a second after he had misplaced the ball. The videos that are flooding the internet replaying this humiliating moment for Nate show the Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni screaming at the bungling player. The words are not very clear, but it is not difficult to guess either. He was probably wanting to know why Nate had not aimed for his team’s basket, even though it was an open shot.
Had Nate aimed for the Knicks basket, the team would have won with some more points added to their score. The coach was naturally livid. The saving grace of the incident was that though Nate threw the ball before the buzzer rang, it did not go in before that happened.
