July 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Last Friday Nate Montana was among those 11 Norte Dame football players who were arrested at a party in South Bend, Indiana. A total of 44 people were arrested on Friday night on misdemeanor charges of underage drinking. The Police responded to a call about a fight when they responded and found out the party and arrested the players.
The local authorities also called out for assistance from Indiana State’s Alcohol and Tobacco Commission after they thought that there were underage people drinking at the party. There has been no official announcement from Notre Dome about the arrest, only the Head coach Brian Kelly said that he was aware of the information but he would collect more facts. However, he did not wish to discuss anything in public, hence signed off saying that the issue would be handed internally. St. Joseph County Police assistant chief Bill Redman said that most of the players who had been arrested were released with a bail of $150 but the athletes will have to appear in the court on July 30. If they are found guilty, they will have to suffer a jail sentence of maximum 30 days.
Nate Montana is the rising star of the Notre Dame and last season he was in Padasena City College as a backup. He is also one of the strongest contender of number 2 spot as expected in the practice session of next month. The athletes arrested along with him were Robby Toma and Tai-ler Jones, the wide receivers, Steve Filer, Nick Tausch, Lo Wood, Chris Watt, Tate Nichols, Eric Atkins, Steven Summerhays and many others. Neither the family members of any athlete nor the players themselves were found for any comments.
