new-england-partiots-vs-san-diego-chargersOct 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Nate Kaeding, the place-kicker of San Diego Chargers, was replaced by veteran Kris Brown, due to the former’s injury in the match, a week before. However, his replacement, could not do much for the team, as it lost to the New England Patriots, with a finishing score of 23-20 in the fourth quarter at the Qualcomm Stadium.

Last week, Nate Kaeding, had to be called off the game, as he sprained his groin while heading for a field goal, and he suddenly slipped while kicking the ball, in a pre-game warm up. He was replaced by Kris Brown, who attempted a 50-yard field goal, with 22 seconds remaining, off the right upright. This move completely shattered the San Diego Chargers. However, Kris Brown should not be the only one to be blamed, as the entire team seemed pale against the rigorous performance of the New England Patriots, who are now the league’s highest scoring offense.

The patriots led the first three quarters of the game with a score of 7, 6 and 7 in each quarter respectively. Although the last quarter was dominated by the Chargers, with a score of 17-3, getting two consecutive touchdowns in the fourth quarter with 4:01 left, it could not cope with the score that their opponent had set in the first three parts of the game, and it resulted in their defeat. The credit goes to Tom Brandy, who controlled the game all through out, with one touch down, sharing 17 of 30 passes and 149 yards. He passed five times to Aaron Hernandez with 54 yards, to Danny Woodhead with 16 yards, two times to Wes Welker with 15 yards, four times to Deion Branch with 39 yards. Amongst the Chargers, it was only Patrick Crayton, who made 82 yards in seven receptions, that actually raised the standard of the Chargers in the fourth quarter.
