London, Nov 30 (IANS) Former Arsenal player Samir Nasri, who signed with rivals Manchester City this year, was involved in an altercation with Gunners’ Emmanuel Frimpong on his first return to the Emirates Stadium.
The pair got into a heated argument after Sergio Aguero’s 83rd-minute winner booked City’s place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.
“Words were exchanged and that was that,” Arsenal spokesman was quoted saying by the Sun.
“No punches were thrown but there was a lot of noise. Samir was speaking in French but they did not touch,” he added.
Nasri made the 24 million pound switch to City amidst a great uproar from Arsenal fans, who branded him as a greedy football player.
Following Nasri’s transfer in August Frimpong tweeted: “Money is the root of all evil.”
Nasri got a a very hostile reception on his comeback game as he was booed by the Arsenal fans every time he touched the ball.
