NASCAR Hall of Fame 2010 inductees

North Carolina, Oct 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The NASCAR Hall of Fame today welcomed 5 inductees, which included:

* Dale Earnhardt, owner-driver
* Bill France, Sr., NASCAR founder and promoter
* Bill France, Jr., promoter
* Junior Johnson, owner-driver
* Richard Petty, owner-driver

In all, there were 25 finalists running neck to neck to get inducted into the prestigious NASCAR Hall of Fame and ultimately these 5 exceptional and passionate people won.

NASCAR started building a Hall of Fame on March 6, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Groundwork for the $160 million facility started on January 26, 2007. The Hall of Fame will honor drivers who have shown exceptional skill at NASCAR driving, all-time great crew chiefs and owners, and other major contributors to this exciting sport.

NASCAR is the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, which is a family-owned and operated business venture that sanctions and governs multiple auto racing sports events. Its founder was Bill France Sr. who died in 1992. Currently the CEO for the company is Brian France, grandson of the late Bill France Sr.
