NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth’s wife Katie Kenseth injured in car accident
September 28th, 2011 - 1:29 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattCharlotte, N.Y., Sept 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Katie Kenseth learnt in the hard way that when your husband is race car driver, it doesn’t necessarily make you one. She is the wife of NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth.
Katie was injured in an auto crash when she tried to drive like her husband, literally. Officials say she was practicing to take part in the NASCAR spouses racing when the accident happened. The accident happened on Monday and she was rushed to a local hospital where she was treated. The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer reports that Katie drove her Bandolero car into a wall and her husband was one of the first people who rushed to her aid. The incident happened at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and Katie has since been discharged from the hospital. Matt says she is doing well in the house.
Matt later tweeted that, “That didn’t turn out so well. Katie and I are home, she has a broken scapula (shoulder blade) and some bumps and bruises. Thanks for all the well wishes.”
The wives and girlfriends of NASCAR drivers race is a charity event and it is expected to take place on the 15th of October. The event is named the Better Half Dash charity.
