Myneni, Prasanth in semis of ITF meet

Chennai, Aug 2 (IANS) Third seeded Saketh Myneni along with Antoine Escoffier from France, and Korea’s Hyun-Woo Nam entered the semi-finals with comfortable victories in the ITF Futures men’s tennis tournament here Thursday.

Vijay Sundar Prasanth did not have to hit a ball as he got a walkover from top seed Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan who was nursing an ankle injury that he suffered in the previous round to set up a clash with Escoffier while Myneni takes on Nam in the other semi-final.

Singles (quarter-finals): 4-Antoine Escoffier (FRA) bt Perakiat Siriluethaiwattana (THA) 6-4, 6-2; 3-Saketh Myneni bt Ajai Selvaraj 6-2, 6-1; 6-N Vijay Sundar Prashanth w/o Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan; 7-Hyun-Woo Nam (KOR) bt Arjun Kadhe 6-2, 6-2.

Doubles (semi-finals): 1-Weerapat Doakmaiklee (THA) / Perakiat Siriluethaiwattana (THA) bt Antoine Escoffier (FRA) / Bastien Favier (FRA) 6-3, 6-3; 2-Saketh Myneni / Arun-Prakash Rajagopalan bt 4-Kaza Vinayak Sharma / Ashwin Vijayragavan 5-7, 6-2, (10-7).
