Muralitharan becomes highest ODI wicket taker as India score 332/5

Colombo, Feb 5 (IANS) Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan became the highest wicket taker in One-day internationals with 503 scalps but couldn’t stop India from piling up 332 for five in the fourth ODI at the Premadasa Stadium here Thursday.For India, Gautam Gambhir scored 150 while skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was unlucky to get out on 94. Muralitharan picked up Gambhir for his 503rd wicket as he went past former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram’s record of 502.

The 36-year-old Muralitharan is also the highest wicket-taker in Tests with 769 wickets from 125 matches.
