Murali, Malinga, Mendis in doubt for Oz Twenty20 assignments
October 29th, 2009 - 3:06 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Oct. 29 (ANI): Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and fast bowler Lasith Malinga are doubtful starters for Victoria and Tasmania respectively in the forthcoming Australian Twenty20 competition.
Both are being ruled out because of national team fixture commitments.
Sri Lanka’s tour of India and an expected tri-series involving those two sides and Bangladesh, which had been in doubt but is now likely to proceed, will prevent both from playing should they be selected.
According to The Herald Sun, finger spinner Ajantha Mendis is also in doubt for the Australian Twenty20 competition. (ANI)
