New Delhi, May 23 (IANS) Mumbai Indians have lodged an official complaint against third umpire Suresh Shastri, peeved at the goofing up of a few run-out decisions in their crucial match against Kings XI Punjab Wednesday. “I can confirm that the franchise owners have filed an official complaint. I cannot say more. It is up to the franchise owners to pursue the case,” coach Lalchand Rajput told reporters here Friday.
The Mumbai side were jolted by a few contentious decisions, including that against batsmen Dwayne Smith, against Kings XI Punjab which cost them the match by one run.
Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar said: “The whole world has watched what was happening there. I will leave it to the team management to see if they want to do anything about it.”
“Had those two run out decisions gone in our favour, we would have added two more runs to the tally and won the match,” Tendulkar said after the thrilling finish.
