Mumbai celebrates India’s victory

Virender Sehwag Mumbai, March 30 (IANS) Mumbaikars took to the streets bursting crackers and shouting slogans Wednesday night after India overwhelmed Pakistan in Mohali to sail into the World Cup cricket final for the third time.

It was veritable madness as scores of crackers exploded all over the city after Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi was caught by Virender Sehwag off the bowling of Harbajan Singh.

The roar of crackers and the pounding of drums became louder as Misbah-ul-Haq was caught by Virat Kohli off the bowling of Zaheer Khan in the last over.

Youngsters poured on to the streets in cars and bikes shouting slogans like “India is the best” and “Beware of the Indian tigers”.

Many cricket enthusiasts ordered free drinks for friends after the victory.

Several residential complexes too erupted in celebrations after the victory.
