Bhopal, Apr 27 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked the BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh governments, alleging they have failed to ensure that the results of development schemes reach the tribals and poor.

Rahul was addressing a public rally on the third day of his Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh tour in Khitauli village in Katni today.

“I saw two India during my tour. The tribals here told me that welfare projects like NREGA and other Central schemes have not reached them yet.”

Rahul alleged that the voice of the poor was unheard at the official level.

“In one India of Delhi, Indore and Bhopal things are different while the other India is of tribals and poor which I visited. The voices of these people not even reach the officials,” he said.

Rahul further added that a tribal was complaining to him of the apathy meted out to him by the officials, who made him run from pillars to post for a Below Poverty Line (BPL) card.

“How long would you wait for education. How long will you wait for your rights. It is time to stand up and demand what is rightfully yours,” he said.

Rahul completed his two-day tour of Chhatisgarh today and entered Madhya Pradesh to visit Mandla.

He held meetings with the villagers at Ramnagar and also visited villages of Houshangabad.

According to sources his tour is officially ending on Sunday and he is slated to proceed to the tribal district of Jhabua on Monday.

Sources further added that Rahul might also stay in a village of Jhabua, a Congress stronghold, before returning to Delhi on Monday. (ANI)
