wisconsin-whitewater-celebrate-touchdownDec 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) National Division III Football Championship in the form of the Stagg Bowl, once again repeated the history, as just like last year, the Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated Mount Union Football with a score of 31-21.

This victory has made the Wisconsin-Whitewater one of the best teams in the division three, with ten victories in total. These two teams have clashed against each other for six times consecutively and fourteen times in total. Levell Coppage ran 299 yards and made 3 touchdowns on 39 carries. Levell Coppage also ran on 54, 11 and 75 yards, with 2:34 minutes left. This gave the player a Stagg Bowl record for the best rushing yards. Matt McCulloch said that they just had to keep “plugging away”. He established the sportsman spirit of the entire team when he said that he never wanted to think that he was losing, no matter how bad the condition was there in the field. He just thought, that he and his team had to play, and that is what changed the game, despite its occasional lag, behind Mount Union.

Head coach Lance Leipold said, that the workman mentality, that the coached have instilled within the player was tremendous. However, the best part was, it remained instilled within the team all through out the match and that is what resulted in the victory. Junior defensive back Steve McCollom said that their coaches have done a great job by giving them a good deal of business approach every week. However, one cannot deny that the victory was not a very smooth ride. It came up with a lot of oscillation and to and fro movements, all through out the four quarters. This spirit made the Warhawks win their 15-0 season for the second time.
