Monaco’s Prince Albert is engaged to SA Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock

Monaco-Ville, Jun 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Prince Albert of Monaco has gotten engaged to the South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock. This was announced by the Monaco Palace on Wednesday.

This would be the first marriage for Prince Albert, (if he does marry Charlene), even though he had his share of relationships. He is also father to 2 children – 6-year-old son whose mother is Nicole Coste, who is a flight stewardess who belongs to Togo and an 18-year-old daughter whose mother is Tamara Rotolo, who is an American and a former waitress.

In at interview with Larry King in 2004, he had confessed that, “There have been some relationships where, had they gone on a little bit more, they would have headed that way. But I think it’s — it’s so much your own timing and your own agenda and the person you want to be with.”

The 52 year old Prince Albert is also a former Olympian and he had competed in bobsledding in 5 Olympic Winter games, which were held in Calgary to Salt Lake City in 2002. Currently he is a member of the International Olympic Committee, as well as the president of Monaco’s National Olympic Committee.
