Mohali (Punjab), Oct 2 (IANS) Australia Saturday continued to frustrate India’s attempt to wind up their innings, losing only one wicket in the first session of play on the second day of the Test at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) here.
Australia were 295 for the loss of six wickets at lunch on the second day.
The only wicket to fall Saturday morning was that of centurian Shane Watson. Starting from his overnight score of 101 runs not out, Watson was caught by Gautam Gambhir off the bowling by spinner Harbhajjan Singh. He scored 126 runs.
Tim Paine and Mitchell Johnson were at the crease, batting on 36 and nine runs respectively.
Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not avail the new ball Saturday morning, relying on the spinners for the breakthrough.
