Ranchi, Dec 11 (IANS) A group of children from a village in the outskirts of the capital city here have spent some quality time with Major League Soccer (MLS) player Jeb Brovsky, learning the skills of football.

Around 110 boys and girls from village Rukka were part of the two-day football camp set-up by Yuva, an organisation that trains young girls in football and use the sport for their development. Three camps were organised on Friday and Saturday.

Brovsky was amazed by the enthusiasm of the children. “It’s very hard to find similar level of passion, commitment and enthusiasm with children in North America. These children remind me why I decided to play football,” said Brovsky.

Brovsky was accompanied by Caitlin Phelan a sports medicine professional and a supporter of Brovsky’s Non-Profit organization Peace Pandemic, spending time with the children educating them about health, hygiene and physical fitness.

Pushpa Kumari an Under-14 Indian international who attended one of the camps, called it a good opportunity for them. “I want to take up football professionally and getting this opportunity to play with a professional footballer like Brovsky is more than a dream.”

Brovsky, 23, who currently plays for Montreal Impact in the MLS, is working with ‘Sport for Development’ NGOs in Delhi, Jharkhand and Srinagar. He will also conduct camps at the Sesa Football Academy in Goa.
