London, July 29 (ANI): Michael Schumacher’s manager last night ruled out a sensational return for the F1 legend.

Schumacher had been linked with a Ferrari comeback at next month’s European Grand Prix in place of Felipe Massa.

The Sun quoted Willi Weber, as saying: “I’m not 100 per cent sure Michael will not be there, I’m 200 per cent sure.”

Massa’s improvement from his head injury in a Budapest hospital is such he could be out by next weekend.

However, according to The Telegraph, another voice suggests that Schumacher is ready to save Ferrari’s world, in the short term at least.

Sabine Kehm, his trusted media aide, told the BBC that Schumacher would consider it, if an approach were made.

Schumacher is in the butcher’s dog category of fitness. He wears his 40 years like Harry Potter. Providing he can satisfy the technical requirements of the super license after almost three years out of the cockpit, there ought to be no impediment.

As a consultant during the design stage he is not unfamiliar with the set-up of the 2009 Ferrari. Even if he were, Schumacher would pick it up in a lap.

In the week before the Monaco Grand Prix, Schumacher spent two days at the Ascari circuit in the south of Spain finding the maximum heart rates of competition winners and journalists behind the wheel of a Maserati sports car.

When Schumacher announced his retirement in a tearful address at Monza in 2006, he said that his mind was made up as early as Indianapolis three months earlier. Had Schumacher chosen to race on for another year, Massa would have been stood down to accommodate the incoming Kimi Raikkonen. (ANI)
