ougDec 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In what has been one of the most dramatic build up to the 2nd test of the Ashes, the Australian bowling attack has been one of the most talked about aspects of the game. One of the key bowlers under intense scrutiny from the media and the selectors alike has been Mitchell Johnson who went wicket-less in the last test at the Gabba. In spite of his above average record in test the left arm quickie had been dropped from the side for the second test and Doug Bollinger was called in. Ryan Harris, another right arm fast bowler who impressed with his in-coming deliveries recently has also been called in to the side after the dismal show by the Australian bowling in the second innings of the first test.

Australian spin legend Shane Warne spoke about Mitchell Johnson ahead of the second test and gave an analysis of the issues that the bowler is facing. He explained that though Mitchell Johnson has been one of the best bowlers in the world, his action has become too round arm and the pace and zip in his deliveries has gone down. Doug Bollinger on the other hand has shown considerable form in the domestic circuit and many feel he could be the ideal replacement for the left hander.

Doug Bollinger and Ryan Harris have replaced Ben Hilfenhaus and Mitchell Johnson for the second test and going by the score at the end of Day 1, it looks like they will have the best opportunity to prove themselves on Day 2. Australia were bundled out for 245 and England have batted just one over where they are 1 for no loss.
