Mitch MustainFeb 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems that of late the USC Trojans are going through a harrowing experience. The team which is now regretting the loss of not being able to acquire De’Anthony Thomas received another shocking news after former USC Trojan quarterback Mitch Mustain got arrested on Tuesday night under the alleged charges of being a suspect in drug selling. Sources reports that the former star quarterback of the Trojans was arrested after investigators suspected him of playing a key role in the selling of prescription narcotics.

According to sources, the 22 year old former USC player is still in jail for he will not be granted bail until $30,000 is being paid as the charge for the bail. Hailed as one of the country’s top back up quarterback, Mitch Mustain was arrested on Tuesday around 8 p.m. PT and taken to a Los Angeles prison. The bond for the bail was set at $30,000, which surprisingly still remains un-paid. Bruce Borihanh, spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the player has been held on a felony narcotics charges. Interestingly, some sources have reported that Mitch Mustain was arrested only after his indulgence in drug selling was busted through a sting operation!

Mitch Mustain had joined the USC Trojans in 2007 after he had a much publicized fall out with his home-state team Arakansas’ coach Houston Nutt. A source close to the case revealed that it is likely that Mitch Mustain will be charged with a lesser count since it was his first criminal record. Surprisingly, Mitch Mustain is the second former USC Trojan who has been arrested this week. Former Trojan Everson Griffen, who currently plays for the Minnesota Vikings, too was arrested on Monday on suspicion of felony battery.
