Shoaib Akhtar Mohali, Mar 28(ANI): Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq believes that fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has a key role to play in the World Cup semifinal against India.

“Shoaib Akhtar is a class bowler. He has performed for Pakistan on a number of occasions, including the 1999 World Cup final,” the Daily Times quoted Misbah, as saying.

“If he does play in the coming matches, I feel it will give us a psychological advantage,” he added.

Pakistan have used Akhtar in just three of their seven World Cup games so far.

The 35-year-old completed his full quote of ten overs in just one of those three games - against Sri Lanka when he played an important role in Pakistan’s 11-run triumph over the co-hosts.

In Pakistan’s very next game he gave away 70 runs off nine overs, including a 28-run over, which forced the team management to keep him out of the line-up. (ANI)
