Aug 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The coach of Minnesota Vikings, Brad Childress on Tuesday denied claims that its veteran quarterback player Brett Favre will not be returning for the 2010 NFL season. Brad Childress maintained that neither he nor any of the officials of the Minnesota Vikings have received any official letter from the player regarding his decision to retire. Not only Brad Childress but many other players of the Minnesota Vikings mentioned to media sources that they have not heard any such thing from the player who will be playing his 20th NFL season this year.
On Tuesday many reputed media sources came up with reports that Brett Favre had decided to retire from the National Football League and will not be returning on field this season. Media sources maintained that the player had informed the officials about his decision on Monday night personally by sending text messages. Citing some unidentified people in the NFL as source, media sources reported that the player has decided to retire due to his nagging left ankle injury which needed a surgery in May.
However, Brad Childress maintained in front of the media sources that the case of Brett Favre is “fluid” at present and added at the same time that he is personally hopeful that the veteran player will return to wear the purple jersey. However, there are many people who are not buying the present rumor as in the last two seasons as well the player had declared his retirement only to return and join the NFL under the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings. The player is yet to comment.
