Aug 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As San Francisco 49ers quarterback Nate Davis on Sunday took to the field, the expectation of the team and the fans escalated due to his last week’s impressive performance against Indianapolis Colts. However, his performance on field which was marked by his long pass play to Ted Ginn Jr. could not impress Coach Mike Singletary who voiced his concern and disappointment with the player in front of the media sources during the post match news conference.
Although Mike Singletary acknowledged the potential of Nate Davis, he voiced his discontent over the player’s offseason work ethics. He kept in front of the media sources the things which according to him Nate Davis lacks. He pointed at the absence of the player from offseason camps and trainings. He maintained that players should sweat themselves out in spring and summer months adding at the same time that he is not sure “how hard he [Nate Davis] worked to get that done”. A dissatisfied Mike Singletary said “That’s when you should be in there driving the coaches crazy” referring to the past few months. Mike Singletary who praised the player for putting up extra efforts now, maintained that he fears it is too late.
On the part of Nate Davis, when told about the comments made by Mike Singletary, he accepted his fault and maintained that he has still plenty of areas to improve. The player pointed at his weaknesses and said that he is still “shaky” about directing the pass protection. However, it seems that Nate Davis is ready to stretch himself that extra bit to come up with flying colors in the coming plays.
