This development happened just after a 23-20 loss to the San Diego Chargers ended a season, which yielded just four wins. Washington Redskins finished their season with a poor record of 4-12. Jim Zorn still had a year left on his contract with the Redskins. And now the likely candidate to take the place of Jim Zorn is none other than the former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

The firing happened at 4am in the morning and the Redskins have scheduled a conference at around noon where they will elaborate more upon the firing and the replacement of Jim Zorn. Sources claim that Mike is in the running for the job of the Washington Redskins head coach.

Redskin’s general manger Bruce Allen was not happy with the team’s performance in the season. So he wanted to shuffle up things a bit to make a better team that is a clear-cut winner on the field as well.
