Michael Wardian Wins National Marathon

patrickWashington, March 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Michael Wardian has won the National Marathon and made the big win in two hours twenty-one minutes and fifty-one second. This is the runner’s fourth win at the national marathon. Michael Wardian had left behind Patrick Moulton in the run. Patrick Moulton was the winner of the National Marathon last year. The national Marathon was held at the RFK stadium from where the marathon run started and ended. The track for the run was set through six wards of the city. Some roads were partially closed when the runners started the marathon run. However, being the weekend, people lined on the side of the road to cheer the runners.

Michael Wardian seemed all set to win the marathon on Saturday. The runner seemed to be controlled and maintained a steady pace from the beginning. Michael Wardian tried to maintain a steady pace from the beginning so that he could finish it on a time that would make him qualify for the Olympic games trial.

Michael Wardian was excited about his win. However, the runner could not break the record finishing time set by Patrick Moulton last year. Patrick Moulton on his part, suffered from a stomach pain during the run which slowed down his pace. He however, finished the run second in two hours twenty-six minutes and three seconds. The National Marathon is growing bigger every year and this year too thousands of people participated in the 26.2 miles marathon. There were many who completed the marathon and many others who made it to the half marathon.
