Michael Phelps Involved In Accident

michaelRecent news reports seem to indicate that Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps has been involved in a car crash on Thursday night. The incident is said to have occurred in Baltimore, Maryland. The crash was brought about when Phelps’ black Cadillac Escalade rear ended a Honda Accord at a busy intersection of the Calvert and the Biddle Streets at 9 p.m. approx.

The American professional swimmer reportedly has sustained no injuries in the collision. Also, two co-passengers who were in the car along with him is reported to have been uninjured. However, the woman, who was at the wheels of the Accord appears to have required medical attention because the accident had taken a heavy toll on her equilibrium and had shaken her up.

The SUV that Phelps was driving did not sustain much damage, but the Accord seems to have taken a heavy beating in the collision, with its front being damaged considerably. The driver side of the car appears to have taken on the burnt of the impact more. The hood of Phelps’ SUV had almost crumpled up.

Anthony Guglielmi, the spokesperson for the police department has stated that after the police had a talk with Phelps after the accident, it was made clear that the World Champion swimmer was not drunk and the accident was not brought about under the influence of alcohol. At about 10:45 p.m., the police had concluded their interview with Phelps and had sent him home, reported WBAL. Further updates on the reports for the accident is most likely going to be revealed on Friday, which might help to know the cause that led to the crash.
