michaelIn the US professional basketball history, Michael Jordan has had one of the most illustrious and successful career and on the night of the biggest day of his life, he settled in for a candid, heartfelt, warm thoughts as his Basketball Hall of Fame speech. He displayed his usual humble nature by including a very long “thank you” list in the induction speech.

On the night of the Hall of Induction, it was a red carpet occasion, as one after the other, basketball greats turned up at the event; and among them loomed large the great figure of Jordan, certainly one of the most celebrated and greatest player of the game.

The others who were inducted in the hall of fame besides Jordan were David Robinson, John Stockton and the coaches Jerry Sloan and Vivian Springer.

It was David Thompson, who presented Jordan at the event. It was known that the event was going to create sufficient buzz since it involved some of the biggest names in the game. In order to fit in a larger crowd, the venue had been shifted from the previously scheduled Hall of Fame auditorium to the Springfield Symphony Hall, which is known to have a seating arrangement of about 3,000 people.

It was a time for recall as Jordan related quite a few instances that had originally risen to criticize him but had actually provided him with huge motivation to the contrary. He even got emotional and cried a little, before beginning his acceptance speech. At one point during the speech, he had exclaimed, “The game of basketball has been everything to me.”
