Miandad, Faisal Iqbal may face PCB’s ire for speaking against board policies
June 24th, 2010 - 2:59 pm ICT by ANILahore, June 24 (ANI): Speaking against the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) policies could cost board’s Director General Javed Miandad and his nephew Faisal Iqbal dearly, as they could be penalised for lashing out at the selectors.
Miandad and Iqbal had questioned the policies of the selection committee following the team’s announcement for the upcoming England Test series.
“Miandad is the director general of the board while Faisal Iqbal is a contracted player. So, under any circumstances they are not free to speak against the PCB,” The Nation quoted a PCB official, as saying.
Earlier, Faisal and middle order batsman Misbah-ul-Haq had criticised the PCB for not naming them in the England bound squad.
“I don’t see the justification for dropping me.I don’t understand on what grounds the selectors have dropped me. In my last five Tests I have scored four fifties and other runs as well,” Faisal had said.
“I don’t know what is going on but my exclusion came as a complete shock to me. I never expected this. After being in and out of the team in the last 10 years I feel I have matured as a test player now and they have dropped me,” said Faisal, who has played 26 Tests. (ANI)
