17 year old Melanie Oudin has made her country proud in a very early age. This power-house performer of a teenager has managed to reach the third round of the Wimbledon, that is being held in England. This is her debut in the Wimbledon arena. She has fanned up a lot of expectations now with everyone branding her as the next big thing in US tennis after the 29 and 28 year old Venus and Serena Williams. It is long due in US tennis; the rise of a new, teen sensation, to be the future torch bearer of the country’s glorious stand with the sport.

This rising teen sensation is currently placed at 124th rank in the world rankings. In her second round elimination match, she beat 21 year old Yaraslova Shvedova from Kazakhstan who is placed at 74 in rankings, to enter the third round of her first Wimbledon tournament. In her world junior ranking, Melanie had been placed at number 2 previously.

Melanie Oudin is playing it out like she has nothing to lose in this tournament; which she does not actually, but she had a lot to prove. Which she has done. This native of Marietta, Georgia, has been making a very rapid lurch in her professional tennis career, almost putting a fear in her opponent’s heart, by her gritty performance. In her third round match today on June 27, the little dynamite is slotted to play against former world number one Serbian Jelena Jankovic at the court three.
