Melbourne, Mar 20 (ANI): Glenn McGrath and his new wife, Sara Leonardi, were nowhere to be seen at Pink Slipper Luncheon at Rosehill Gardens, an annual event held to raise money for the breast cancer charity of which he is chairman.

McGrath and his late wife, Jane, founded the charity together.

He was spotted on Thursday being collected from Sydney Airport by Leonardi.

The fast bowler has continued his involvement with the Foundation since Jane died in 2008 following a long battle with breast cancer, and he has attended the luncheon event each year since it began in 2009.

McGrath Foundation spokeswoman Kylie Tink said that the legendary cricketer’s no-show was down to a scheduling conflict due to family commitments.

“I don’t believe he has any official engagements on, but I think he just wanted to spend time with his family,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

McGrath’s manager Warren Craig couldn’t shed any further light on the sportsman’s whereabouts.

“He’s probably got a family thing on,” Craig said. (ANI)
