nationalsAugusta, Apr 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Masters, or the Augusta Nationals, which is being held in Augusta, is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport of golf. Therefore, needless to say, the tournament is being watched diligently by all golf aficionados. The tournament sees the coming together of the best in the business, and it is well known that any golfer worth his salt never misses the tournament, which can be proved by the fact that even Tiger Woods chose this tournament to make his comeback. Of course, this means that the tournament turns out to be a highly exciting one.

The leaderboard of the Masters show a surprising turnaround for Phil Mickelson in the third round of the tournament. He made a 13 eagle, more than making up for the little short of disastrous performance only the day before. Lee Westwood too seems to have a serious chance at the title, as it seems from the fact that he managed to make a round of 68 in the third round of the tournament. The same goes for Fred Couples.

In fact, this sentiment as echoed by the 50-year-old golfer himself, who claimed that he had a feeling that he might, still, turn out to be the eldest golfer to have ever won the tournament. However, Fred Couples seems to have to face some stiff competition from the other younger and not so younger golfers participating in the tournament, not least of whom is Tiger Woods himself, who finished the third round with an 8. However, it is being speculated that the ones who are most likely to take the title home, so far, are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Fred Couples.
