Mary Carillo In Controversy Yet Again

mary-carilloVancouver, Feb 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mary Carillo has ended up again in another controversy, this time in the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games 2010. She is chosen as the Olympics Winter Games 2010 commentator. According to the sources, the commentator has ended up in controversy for her rude comments on Serena Williams during the opening ceremony. She has upset many fans by passing unnecessary comments on the tennis star Serena Williams. She had also in the past showed her rudeness towards this power packed tennis player by allegedly blaming her for threatening at Arthur Ashe. This charge against the player has never been levied.

Mary Carillo who has been in this field of commentary for a longtime now and also covered the 2008 Beijing Games. Though her own tennis career has not been a long one, but she achieved the rank of 33 from the WTA ranking. In the field of commentary she is known for her sharp and witty comments and pointed sense of humor which many feel are dry humor. However, her attitude towards the game and its players has made many players like Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams,ad Andre Agassi her fan. She is credited with the coinage of the phrase “Big Babe Tennis” which she used to describe the power packed new generation women tennis players like Lindsay Davenport, Venus Williams and Serena Williams.

Mary Carillo in this Olympic Winter Games 2010 has also bore the torch as it made its round all over Canada. People are now looking forward to her commentaries and hoping that she makes no further such comments which disgraces the prestige of a player.
