Ross Taylor Jaipur, May 2 (ANI): Pune Warriors coach Geoff Marsh has blamed poor fielding for their defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League.

Rajasthan Royals claimed their third straight victory after beating Pune Warriors by six wickets.

“Yeah, I thought 143 was a good score and obviously we would have liked a few more, especially after the start we got, but yeah, it was a really slow wicket and too hot, but in the day, we should have won the game.

“In the game of cricket, you got to hold your catches, we dropped some catches and at the end of the day that killed us and that is where the game really finished,” said Marsh, in Jaipur city of northwestern Rajasthan state.

Pune Warriors skipper Yuvraj Singh was run out by Siddharth Trivedi (2-28).

Royals skipper Shane Warne gave credit to his bowlers.

“I thought we bowled pretty well, really! They played some good shots, we knew that was going to come hard of this because they had nothing to lose, and I lose today, they are just bad …competition.

“They got to win the last six games. So, we knew that was going to come hard on us, but they fought really well with the ball,” said Warne.

Ross Taylor was the star performer, scoring an unbeaten 47 runs off 35 balls to propel Rajasthan Royals to victory.

Rajasthan had won their last game against Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. (ANI)
