Mohali, May 29 (IANS) Kings XI Punjab opener Shaun Marsh struck a century to guide his team to a 41-run victory over Rajasthan Royals here Wednesday. Marsh, who scored 115 off 69 balls, thus became the leading run-getter of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Marsh has piled up 593 runs with one century and five half-centuries with an average of 74.12.
He became the third batsman to amass 500 runs in the competition. The top three batsmen are: Marsh (593), Gautam Gambhir (523) and Sanath Jayasuriya (514).
Marsh is the sixth player to register a century in the IPL - all six have been posted by overseas batsmen.

# Niraj Patel (57) posted his maiden fifty in the IPL.
# Patel’s batting average of 101.00 is the second best in the competition, next only to Luke Pomersbach’s 152.00.
