bos_g_mdaniels_576Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Boston Celtics on Sunday received a hard blow when one of their key guard-forward suffered a nasty injury on the basketball court during the match against the Orlando Magic. It was indeed a hard day for the Celtics who lost both the game and the player for atleast a month! It has been reported that the kind of pain that the player received is likely to make him stay away from the court for atleast a month or two. Celtics coach Doc Rivers already had guessed it how serious consequences would be for the team.

The accident was an outcome of the collision between the player and Orlando Magic star Gilbert Arenas. Eyewitnesses said that Marquis Daniels suffered a collision against Gilbert Arenas’ shoulder while trying to drive towards the basket. Next he was lying on the floor close to the bench of his own team. The injury has now resulted in a bruised spinal cord. The back problems of the player, however, is not a new one with this as the latest addition to the list. The injury that took place in the initial seconds of the second quarter made him lie down motionless and spectators saw officials taking him away on a stretcher.

Marquis Daniels suffered from something like this in the last season itself while he was once again pitted against the Celtics. Dr. Brian McKeon, the team physician has confirmed that this injury is related to the last one. Medical examinations are going on and further reports on the injury will be revealed soon, as was assured by Dr. Brian McKeon.
