The reputed baseball player Mark McGwire, who had made some outstanding contribution for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oakland Athletics, has recently confessed about steroid use for enhancing his health during his gaming career. Though he insisted that steroid was needed for his health reasons and not for his strength, this confession might affect his image.

There were several speculations regarding steroid use of the baseball player but he had always rejected such claims. However, eight years after retirement, he has decided to bare his heart to the public. Though many years have passed after his retirement, still he is one of the renowned name in the baseball field and his acceptance of steroid consumption has surprised many fans. Mark McGwire, who had revealed the use of steroid during baseball career has been selected as the hitting coach of the St. Louis Cardinals and his confession might affect his coaching career.

Many players have earlier feared to reveal their drug usage for facing criticism. However, Mark McGwire, who had been under the scanner for a considerable period, has gathered the courage to face public. It is expected that the revelation of the baseball player about his drug usage would not overshadow his outstanding achievements of his sports career. While confessing about steroid use, Mark McGwire said that he knew such a day would come when he would speak out about the speculations related to his steroid use. He said, “It’s time for me to talk about the past and to confirm what people have suspected.”
