Mark Loretta Hits Victory Run, Casey Blake Becomes Match Hero

Los Angeles, Oct 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Loretta, scored the winning run for the Dodgers in the match against St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday at the Dodger Stadium. With this home run of Loretta, the team Dodgers clinched a 3-2 victory. Loretta is a popular player of the team and his performance as second base in the year 2006 for the team of Red Sox is still remembered. Ronnie Bellard scored two-out single in the match but he was not the hero of the match. Casey Blake who scored nine-pitch walk and two-out was honored as the hero of the match.
Casey Blake had played exceptionally well in the match against St. Louis Cardinals. Rafael Furcal who is another infielder of the team, praised Blake for his performance in the match. He praised him especially for his batting which helped the team to win.
On Wednesday morning, the team of Dodgers submitted their roster of twenty five men who would play in the first round playoffs. There was nothing surprising in the list as the names declared were quite expected. Doug Mientkiewicz’ name was not in the list as infielder Mark Loretta had grabbed the final position. Jeff Weaver who is the long reliever of the team received the last position in the 11 pitching spot.
Casey Blake who became the hero of the match against St. Louis Cardinals will play as one of the infielders of the team. Apart from him, the other infielders of the team are Rafael Furcal, James Loney, Ronnie Belliard, Juan Castro and Orlando Hudson. Lots are expected from the team of Dodgers in the playoffs and they are preparing themselves to get the expectations fulfilled.
