Marion Jones To Play Basketball, Signs With Tulsa Shock

Oklahoma, March 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marion Jones is hoping to begin her career afresh and this time with a career in basket ball game. According to reports, the sprint runner has signed with the basketball team Tulsa Shock. Marion Jones has said that her decision to play basketball has not been due to her past but for her own interest in the game. The details of the contract have not been made public. According to speculations, the player has been signed for one year or more.
According to Marion Jones, she had always wanted to play basketball against the players who hold strong positions in the game. She seemed beaming with energy to make her debut into the new game with the Women’s National Basketball Association team, Tulsa Shock. She hopes success will follow her in her new endeavor.
Marion Jones has served jail term after she was found guilty of using performance enhancing steroids during her Olympic Games rounds in 2001. In the year 2007, she was stripped of her five Olympic medals when she confessed of her use of steroid during the competition. She had won gold in 100 meters, 200 meters and 1,600-meters relay along with piling two bronze medals in long jump and 400 meter relay during the Sydney Olympics. During the press conference the Marion Jones did not apologize for her past deed. She had reportedly said that “redemption” is a word that she does not believe in. The player said that her aim is to play against the best in the world and she is sure that she will be getting the opportunity. She called herself a competitor in the world of sports.
